Christmas Carol

It's Christmas, everyone! I hope your stockings are full and your hearts full of cheer! I think this is my favourite season. I've always said that summer is but there's something about Christmas that's so magical. Maybe it's because I watched a movie on Netflix called, The Christmas Chronicles, the other day that was so whimsical, I almost believed in Santa Claus!

But it's more than that! It's writing cards and mailing your best wishes to your loved ones! It's the mindset that Christmas Baking doesn't have calories! It's the Spirit that surrounds the season that's so bright! It gets into your soul and suddenly, the colours are brighter and the darkness isn't so bad with the snow.

And when I say "Spirit of Christmas", I mean The Holy Spirit. Somehow the world becomes more in tune with each other. It doesn't happen to everyone, but I noticed that kindness is more present in the world when Christmas comes around. The Spirit moves us. Whether it's shovelling each other's walks or wishing people "Merry Christmas!" on the street. It's there! God speaks to us. And I'm crazy about it.

Someone that is full of Christmas Spirit all year round is my Grandma Carol. She was born on Christmas Day so she's a Christmas Carol. It didn't occur to me until a year ago! I asked my Great Grandma last week if that's why she picked Carol for Grandma's name! She said, "I have another name picked but since she was born on Christmas Day, Daddy (my Great Grandpa) said her name's gotta be Carol."

I think my Grandma was a Christmas miracle. My Great Grandma had something dramatic happen to her and she wasn't sure if she cud have kids. So when my Grandma was born, I think it was so exciting to have a little girl who brighten their world. And nothing has changed. I didn't know that my Grandma was going to be one of my best friends.

Happy Birthday, Grandma! May the Lord continue to speak to you and guide you through the years to come. I'm so grateful for your prayers, your generous love, and your infectious laughter. You are a Christmas Angel that happens to stick around all year round.

Merry Christmas to all of you and I pray that the Spirit moves you and that you listen to Him. He's pretty cheeky and a most important friend.

Love & Prayers,

Lauren xo
