The Crucible

This was the second student production I was a part of at Rosebud School of the Arts in 2011. It was through this show that I learnt that I never have it all figured out. As an actor, I place my work in the directors hands, trusting that it will be a valuable component in the big picture. It is the director that has perspective and that sees the vision. I am an important part of the story, but not the only part. This was a story of a teenage girl who wanted something she couldn’t have so she told a few lies. Pretty soon a few lies turned into a huge web of deceitful lies that cost a whole community its humanity.  It was a great lesson to me that humanity should always be treated with respect and revengeful lies are not the solution. The moment humanity tries to take control we are lost. This show was directed by Paul F. Muir, Education Director at Rosebud School of the Arts.
