Being A Lady

Sometimes I'm convinced I was born into the wrong era. All my favourite movies are set in the 40s or the 50s. It was normal to wear lipstick, dresses, and heels. Not only that, it was expected. If I had my way, that's how I would dress everyday. But a lot of my work requires more flexible attire. So that's that.

When I say "Being A Lady" this is what I imagined ladies to wear. However, the lovely thing about fashion is that a woman can be a lady wearing a variety of things. But there are key things that I like to stick to:

1. If I don't feel comfortable in a dress when I'm sitting down, it's not worth it. I've had dresses, or outfits, fit so well standing up but when I sit down I have to always cover my legs with my clutch. Not ideal.

2. I like breathing. It's something I believe all of humanity should do more of, deep  breathing that is. So if I can't breath deep or eat any food when I wear the outfit, it's not a good thing.

3. What am I saying with this look? I love how french women dress. They are elegant and mysterious. I've mentioned this concept before and I think it's what makes women's fashion so fascinating. With elegance comes along grace and poise. I think we need more of this in the world. But with mystery comes along a sense of play and the best kind of secrecy without giving too much away. I believe this is achieved with a balance between modesty and the right fit for your body type.

The dress that I'm wearing in the picture is from Zara and the belt is my mother's. The lipstick is from Sephora and it called "Belle". So I had to buy it because Belle is my favourite princess and because it was on sale. But this dress fits me, I can breath and sit down in it. But what does it say about me? Probably cute, fresh, playful, and classy. Which, is what I'm told, who I am. And I sure like being me. Being someone else is too hard.

Love & Prayers,
