Doctor Lydia

Lydia graduated this past weekend and I had the privilege of going to her UNBC (University of Northern British Columbia) graduation. It's funny because the TV shows that I binge watch have scenes with Doctors or something happens in a hospital and I keep thinking, "Oh my gosh, that seems so complicated." And then after the scene is done I like to think that I understand everything that happened medically. But Lydia actually will do that and actually knows what's going on.

I've told you about her before and I don't like to repeat myself but I'm going to. Watching her complete this huge step in her medical career was an absolute honour and I'm just so proud of her. We've been in constant conversation about life and what happened during the days (obviously, she's my best friend) but I know a little bit about how much work she's put in. The countless hours of studying and making sure she doesn't miss any detail because that it could help her save someone's life. The lack of sleep from doing rounds in the hospital while still making an effort to get to know that staff because you need to work as a team. It's been a long ride.

But Lydia, look at what you've done. Look at all the people you've been able to help, be a mentor to, and how you've spread your light! Think about it, all the work, long hours, and dedication has finally paid off! YOU MADE IT! You're incredible. And what I love so much about this all is that even though there were obstacles on the way, you did not let it get you down because you knew this is what The Lord made you for. And He will honour you. It's a noble calling and I can't think of anyone better to do it.

So congratulations, dear one. I'm so so so proud of you. You're an inspiration.

Love & Prayers,

Lauren xo
