Mother's Day
What can I say about my mother that ya'll haven't heard already? What do we know. We know she's funny. We know she's beautiful. We know she can make a piece of junk look like a million bucks. But here's something you didn't know: she's the reason for who I am.
I'm sure that's not that hard to figure out. Like Mother like Daughter, that's what they say. But she is bold and strong. She feels deeply but also works hard to be fearless and open to the world. She speaks her mind clearly and fights for what she knows to be right. I've never met anyone like her but that's because she's so fantastic. The Lord knew that I needed her.
I've told ya'll before that it's already been a gigantic year. I was in a situation that was no longer healthy for me and she helped me discover what I needed to do, took care of me when I couldn't be alone, and made sure I knew that I was loved. And I know that all Moms are supposed to do that, it's part of their job but you guys, she's really been my best friend. And today I want to celebrate her.
Mama, thank you for being you and not being ashamed about it. Thank you for taking care of me the best you can and knowing what I need. You're my best friend. Today I hope that you know how loved you are, how cherished you are, and how appreciated you are. I know life gets busy and I can get caught up in what's happening in my life but I want everyone to know that I was blessed with the best Mother for me. Happy Mother's Day!
