Great Grandma Krebs

My Great Grandma turns 98 years old today. She was born in 1920. She has seen so much change over the years, it's almost too much to comprehend. But she's still as sharp as a tack. "Why am I still here?" She asked me one day. "I can't be sure, do you have some unfinished business?" "I don't think so.."

She's a firecracker, this one. She has big stories and gives them to you straight. And she loves to laugh. She lived a "field" east of my house (from my parent's farm, now acreage) and I used to walk down for ice cream cones when I was little. And I remember one time she braided my hair so tight, I felt like I got a facelift. But she's full of so much love. She doesn't always know how to communicate it but when does anyone know how to communicate love clearly all the time?

Grandma, I know you can't read this, but it's happening anyways. People need to know about you. They need to know about your story and how you always fought so hard to be positive through all of the dark times. You're a strong woman and I look up to you in so many ways. I pray that you get rest and so much love today. You asked me once, "What's going on in an old woman's mind?" I had no idea. "There's a young woman who’s yelling, "What the heck happened?!" " Well, I think you look like a million bucks. Happy Birthday!

Love & Prayers,

Lauren xo
