End of Summer
You guys, I can't believe that it' the end of August. It feels like it was May like yesterday. Like where did the time go?! It flashed before my eyes! Okay, maybe I'm being too dramatic. But I'm not the only one who feels like this. Right?
I started off the summer listing what things I wanted to do and dreaming about how all of these things would manifest. I was hopeful and excited because this was one of the summers where I could do my own thing. I'm not sure how free I will be next summer because I need to work and save for the Masters in Occupational Therapy Program that I hope to start in September 2019! Thus why I thought, "I really need to do it big!"
My first hope: to spend more time with family and friends! And you guys, I sure did that! I was driving everywhere and anywhere to meet friends for supper, have a coffee, or to catch a movie! I even got a chance to see my Great Grandma and Great Aunt in the Lodge (Old Folks Home) they live in! I had some great heart to hearts with my Grandparents and was bugged by my brother (too much, although he begs to differ). All in all, I saw my people and loved my people.
My second wish: Lake Days. I have to admit, I didn't go to a lake once. However, my parents have this 5 foot deep pool they set up every year and since July and August were so hot, we spent a lot of time in there. This was really fun and special because Josh and Lydia (my brother and his wife) move to Regina this coming Sunday. It was necessary to get the time in.
My final goal: explore Calgary more. I have to be honest with you. I got to know Calgary better and where little places were but I can't say that I explored it. Because I'm relationally wired, I was always with people and we were do our regular outings but I did not set out by myself and explore the city. Maybe Fall will have to be full of those adventures! I got some dresses perfect for the occasion!
Now I'm off to start some more adventures. And you guys, I haven't been back to school in four years and haven't done Math or Science in eight years. But I'm so excited. I'm thrilled to be meeting new people and studying something that really matters to us, no matter what program we're in or transitioning into. There's nothing like taking a risk and hoping it pays off. Now, I realize the "risk" part can be scary. But when was anything worth doing easy?
Love & Prayers,
Lauren xo
