7 Months: B E A U T Y-F U L
Ya'll have been the biggest blessing and you're playing it so cool. Thank you so much for following along! A lot of my posts are full of deep thoughts and challenges, which I'm always happy to share with you. However, for the 7 month anniversary, I thought I would do something a little different!
I've been wearing make up since I was 13 and have tried lots of products and always hoping that thanks, to those products, I would be beautiful. 13 was a tough age for me. I compared myself to a lot of girls in school that weren't built like me and I'm telling you right now, comparison is the death of beauty and the thief of joy. It's taken a long time to realize that I am beautiful. The canvas the Lord blessed me with is enough. Without make up I am beautiful, attractive, striking, and enough. So now I've started searching for products that accentuate my natural features while getting that fresh faced, effortless glow that Audrey Hepburn always presented. I've decided to share 8 beauty that I swear by and use in my 5-10 minute make up routine:
1. Revlon Photoready InstaFix Makeup Stick : I was using Bare Minerals BAREPRO 16 Hr Full Coverage Concealor (which was AMAZING) but it was a bit out of my budget so I started looking for something else. I came across Revlon's take on it and it's been amazing! The coverage lasts, it's works for my combination skin, slides on so smoothly, and it's only $17-21.
2. IT COSMETICS Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil: This little beauty only cost on $13 and it's an absolute delight! IT matches my brow colour completely, doesn't look overdone and stays in place all day!
3a. Elf Cosmetic's Rose Gold Eye Shadow Palette-Nude Rose Gold: I love all of the colours in this palette. I'm a sucker for the romantic colours, what I would call a blush/nude palette that's not overdone but makes a subtle statement. It has it all from the nudes to the bolds. Ad because they'll all in one place, I can experiment depending on the dress I'm wearing! It was $12.
3b. Tarteist PRO To Go Palette- I got it in my FabFitFun box! I like to keep this palette around for a bolder look! All of these shadows are very strong so I didn't have to put much on. May I also add they're very appropriately named! They also didn't fade at all during day. I love Tarte overall but their eye makeup products are great!
4. Tarte Cosmetic's Sex Kitten Liquid Eyeliner- This eyeliner also came in my FabFitFun box and it was a great surprise! I love that cat eye winged eyeliner look and this eyeliner doesn't smudge or anything. It has a precise felt tip that ensures a clean line. It's retro and chic. It usually costs $25 but Taste always has great coupons if you sign up for their emails! It's around $30.
5. Lancome Mascara: Lashes are my big game plan. I've tried all kinds of drugstore Mascara but nothing compares to any of LANCOME Mascara (although I gotta say that Covergirl's Lash Blast Fusion is a close second and only $7!) So if you're going splurge, I say do it here! I've tried LANCOME's DEFINICIL, HYPNOSE, and now I'm on HYPNOSE DRAMA and they're all great. DEFINICIL offers whimsical length, HYPNOSE offers length and volume, and HYPNOSE DRAMA offers extra length and extra volume. They're all around $35.
6a. SEPHORA COLLECTION Matte Perfection Powder Foundation: I've tried lots of powder foundation from Covergirl and Rimmel but this powder is full coverage and light weight. It leaves my sin soft and lasts all day. I love having that fresh-face-dewy look and this is what helps me have it! It was $25.
6b. Bare Minerals Mineral Veil Setting Powder-Illuminating Mineral Veil: I like this powder because if I'm in a hurry or going to work and I just need a simple glow, I use this powder. It gives me a shiny glow with a touch of sparkle. I use it with Elf Cosmetic's Kabuki brush. The powder was $27 and the brush was $6.
7. Rimmel London Kate Scuplting Palette- The palette has a highlighter, contour, and blush powders all in one. I have to tell you, it's so much easier having them all in one place! It goes along with that fresh face thing I was talking about. I have an angular face as it is but this help the light hit me in all the right places. It cost me $11 and worth every penny!
8. NYX Professional Makeup Setting Spray-Dewy Finish/Long Lasting: I finish my whole routine with this. I spray it about five times just to make sure everything is covered and nothing goes anywhere. It's leaves a fresh feeling and gives me a glow! It was $8.
9. Lipcare & Lipstick: I have a bunch of lipsticks and I would say they're all about the same! However, I have two staples that I stick to: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and Sephora's Sephora Rouge Lipsticks. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment helps prevent chapped lip with a touch of colour that adds to that fresh face I keep talking about. Sephora's Rouge line are great and the colour lasts for a long time. The matte finish make my lips feel so dry (I know, it's probably all in my head). I'm loving the Rose tint for Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and The Magic Story, Rebel Chic and Stay Together shades in Sephora's Rouge Lipstick. The Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment is about $29 and the Sephora Rouge Lipsticks range from $9-16.
