Thank Goodness It's Fall

I know you guys have probably read the title and thought, "I thought you were all gung-ho for summer and are mourning it's loss." Right you are but fall fashion is where it's at. There's nothing like wearing a comfy sweater, not overheating, and soaking up the sunshine with a good cup of coffee. Perhaps Pumpkin Spice? (Basic, I'll admit it)

So today I want to share the fall staple pieces that I've recently acquired! As I get older, it's less about what's trendy and more about comfort and timeless. Add a little vintage flare, a touch of pink, and cute shoes.

This look is what is getting me through the transition between Summer and Fall. It's light and airy. As I grow older, I'm trying to move away from a cute, young floral into a mature, timeless floral. I found this shirt dress at Value Village for $18. The cardigan is perfect with it! It's a bit longer than the dress, which I like because I love a little mystery with some crochet over some skin. I also got this at Value Village and I think it was for $15. The hat I got from Forever 21 a couple years ago and can't seem to let it go.

These boots are from ALDO and I got them on sale (for $80) around a year ago. I love them because they're faux suede, a dark army green and the heel is a great casual height. They empower me somehow, like I could walk on a runway or throw caution to the wind. I've paired it with some Bobbi Brown Lipsticks (Sephora has the best perks for Insiders) and my Olivia Burton Watch (from Asos) that I got on sale for $90. The last touch is some simple pearl earrings that I received as a gift from Anthropologie. I don't usually keep gifts from ex-boyfriends, but these are really special to me.

I wear this sweater all the time! It's from H&M and it was on sale for $20! Its a wool blend so it can get pretty warm but it's so cozy! Plus it got with everything, which is a huge must! Lately I'm finding that instead of buying quantity buy quality.

The Ox Blood Oxford shoes are an absolute classic and a must. I got them from Asos. They're actually called "Brogues", which was new to me so we've all learned something new! Unless you're a smarty-pants and you were already aware. They were around $30 on sale and the shipping wasn't badly all.

The tights are from Old Navy, I believe, just something to get me free shipping! They're so comfy and kind of shimmery, which I like! Last but not least, this is one of my Riverdean Watches, a collaboration that I was blessed to have and its called "The Minimalist". I love the chain mesh strap and the clean watch face. It goes for about $80.

I've saved the best for last (in my opinion). This is my favourite outfit. It's so classic and timeless. It's got that Audrey Hepburn vibe with a French twist. Let's get right to it.

The Trench Coat is from H&M. I went out on a limb ordering this online because jackets are tough to fit me in the shoulders, chest, and still pass the "hug test". It was $100, has rich, heavy material and I adore the colour. It was a splurge and worth every penny.

The white blouse was the result of careful searching in a thrift store in Palm Springs and it's from Espirit. There's a cute little boutique out of Montreal called 1861 that has pieces like this top! Here's one. I love it because it's so versatile! I tied at the waist if I'm wearing a skirt or tuck into cute pants. Speaking of pants, these are from Old Navy and I called them my "teacher's pants" when I was teaching ukulele. I think they were on sale for around $30 and they have tiny anchors on them.

These oxfords have shown up again, I just can't get away from them! Again, only $30 from Asos. The scarf is from Joe Fresh and I paid $7 for it. It has the sweetest heart pattern on it and I wear it in my hair, as a neckerchief or tied on my bag. It matches my cardigan perfectly, which is also from Joe Fresh

I've attached the links for each item above and some are substitutes because that specific item is out of stock. What are the staples that you have on your Fall wardrobe? Not that I need more clothes, but it never hurts to look, right?

Love & Prayers,

Lauren xo
