Thanksgiving: Gosh, I'm grateful.

You're probably thinking, "Well I should hope you're thankful! It is THANKSgiving." Alright, enough with the sass, although you could have said the same thing to me many a time.

Every year when we're around the table before the feast that my family has prepared my Grandpa says, "Let's go around the table and say what we're thankful for." Everyone says the same thing, "I'm thankful for family". And sometimes I think, "Oh think of something different." But I take that back now.

Honestly, with every hardship I face, big or small, makes me more thankful. And if you could have told me that I would come to this realization at a younger age I would have thought, "Well that's a big joke." But I mean it wholeheartedly. This year has been lovely, actually. I mean, some bumps, some hills, and a few really big mountains, but I can't really complain. It must be because I'm on the other side now. Or it's because I've figured out how to make it through the wilderness: with God and with my family.

I'm SO thankful for the people in my life. You know who you are and, as far as I'm concerned, you're family. You've been apart of my heart for as long as I can remember. I'm grateful for you because you've listened to my insecurities, thoughts, and feelings over and over again. I'll admit, sometimes it's organized and sometimes it's a big fat mess. But you've listened and offered advice anyways. Thank you for that. Thank you for your consistent friendship and prayers. I'm grateful for all of you today.

Oh, and my Great Grandma's pistachio marshmallow salad. What are you grateful for?

Love & Prayers,

Lauren xo
