A Month Until Christmas

Oh my gosh, it's already a month until Christmas?! This year has just gone by way too fast. It feels like it should be still summer, that's what I'm dreaming of anyways. In Alberta, it's not a couple months of cold, it's 8 months of cold. But here we are.

That being said, I'm excited that Christmas is in a month. That means that Christmas music will be starting soon (sorry for those who work in retail) and family will be altogether again. It means that there's going to be so much good food, puzzles being built, and lots of sitting by the fire. It's a time where magic floats amongst the snowflakes and generosity is spread like icing on gingerbread cakes. It's my favourite season (though I truly do not like Winter).

One of my love languages is gifts. Not necessarily that I go all out or anything, I just love finding things that I know people will love. So I'm already done my Christmas shopping (which is not a secret to those who know me). They're not extravagant but I hope that everyone will understand how much I treasure their presence in my life.

So as we approach Christmas, I hope that you understand what it's really about and not get caught up in all the commercialism. I still had a hard time going into any store November 1st and seeing that Christmas Decor

exploded overnight. What actually matters is the connections you have with those around you and the blessings that seem to just fall into place because of the Christmas spirit. It's also a big celebration because that's when Jesus was born (although there's a lot of debate when the actual virgin birth was). It represents the miraculous event where God became and sent His Son into the world to save it. That just fills me with warm fuzzies because that's incredible love. And that's what I hope to spread around.

Love & Prayers,

Lauren xo
